More than a visit, it is a precious cultural moment, made up of exchanges, sharing and transmission.Classified in 1932 among “natural monuments, sites of artistic, historical, scientific, legendary or picturesque character”, the rue des Teinturiers shelters many secrets, enigmas and legends.With the Sorgue and the paddle wheels, the question of water, a long-standing geopolitical and economic issue, is addressed; industry in Provence, family life and local crafts (indienneurs, tanners and dyers) are at the heart of this visit. The street of wheels also houses the memory of illustrious characters: the entomologist Jean-Henri Fabre, the industrialist Jean-François Pernod, the painter Jean-Bapstiste Brunel, the poet Pétrarque and his dear Laure, etc.
