Les Taillades (84)

Les TailladesThe village of Les Taillades is peacefully curled up at the bottom of the Luberon Mountain. The historic village, which dates back to the middle-ages, is still very charming, and is worth a nice stroll.

Les Taillades has been an important centre for stone pit quarrying. Although they have been neglected since the end of the 19th century, these old stone pits are now a natural theatre, where dance recitals, theatre plays and concerts take place in august.

The 19th century Saint Pierre Mill is another interesting place in this village, its paddle-wheel, which formerly used to grind flour, now slightly agitates the water in the Carpentras canal.
