Les Taillades (84)
The village of Les Taillades is peacefully curled up at the bottom of the Luberon Mountain. The historic village, which dates back to the middle-ages, is still very charming, and is worth a nice stroll.Les Taillades has been an important centre for stone pit quarrying. Although they have been neglected since the end of the 19th century, these old stone pits are now a natural theatre, where dance recitals, theatre plays and concerts take place in august.
The 19th century Saint Pierre Mill is another interesting place in this village, its paddle-wheel, which formerly used to grind flour, now slightly agitates the water in the Carpentras canal.
