Le Thor (84) - Walks in Avignon and around

Located in the heart of the Monts de Vaucluse, Le Thor is the gate to the Sorgues area. Created around the 7th century, this town boasts some remains of its past which deserve your attention.
Take a break in this quiet village and admire the 13th century church Notre Dame du Lac, and its medieval tower. You can also visit:
- the Douzabas gate and its campanile
- the ruins of both the castle and the monastery of Thouzon

Le Thor also offers beautiful hikes: you can go for a walk towards the Thouzon Hill, on top of which you will see the remains of a castle and a chapel.

Remember to visit the Cave of Thouzon, a natural subterranean cave going back to the Cretaceous period.
